Scientific Programme

The programme will cover all aspects and research domains of developmental psychology, with a particular focus on longitudinal studies.

Two major longitudinal studies on child and adolescent development are currently taking place within the host institution of the Congress;
the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Bergen, and these will be presented at the Congress.

Research on human development and developmental psychology represents a variety of fields, age groups, populations, theoretical approaches and methodologies.

This stimulating mixture constitutes a huge potential for cross-fertilization, and the scientific and organizing committees aim at providing an atmosphere of curiosity, critique, and sharing within the context of a seam-less organization.

The conference format will include keynotes, symposia, thematic sessions and poster sessions. It is recommended that each participant submit only one abstract as a main author.
Pre-conference workshops with topics of particular interest to young scientists in developmental psychology will be organized.

Announcement of Jacobs Foundation fellowships for the  ECDP11

We would like to announce that Jacobs Foundation will offer a limited number of fellowships of 1200 euro each to young researchers whose submission to present their work at the 15th European Conference on Developmental Psychology, has been accepted.

Two types of fellowships will be offered. One type of fellowship supports excellence, and is based on the quality of the applicant’s abstract. The second type of fellowship supports young scholars, doctoral and postdoctoral students, who come from developing countries.

The criteria for evaluation in the case of both, fellowships for excellence and fellowships to young researchers from economically developing countries, will be the quality of the applicant’s abstract, their CV, and a letter of recommendation from a senior scientist in developmental psychology. To qualify for the second type of fellowship the applicant must live in a country that is listed in the developing countries list at the ESDP website:
Those interested should send this information to ECDPabstracts@uib.no by  April 8, 2011.
