Conference Proceedings

On occasion of our conference, the Proceedings containing the extended version of the scientific presentations will be published in order to make the contents of the works presented accessible to a wider audience.

The publication will be sent to sent to be indexed in Conference Proceedings Citation Index by Thomson Reuters – Philadelphia formerly ISI.
The Publisher Medimond - International Proceedings will send detailed writing instructions to the authors accepted for presentation at the conference in spring 2011.

All the works of the invited speakers will be published free of charge, whereas the authors of the free papers will be asked for a contribution of Euro € 160 to cover the publication costs of the work.

For more information you can contact directly the publisher at info@medimond.com or click here

Abstracts are limited to 250 words plain text.
As in previous conferences of the European Society for Developmental Psychology, abstracts can be submitted for the following three types of presentations;
- Oral paper
- Symposia
- Poster

Individual presentations
Based on the experiences of previous ESDPs, we expect some 150 individual presentations in Bergen. If accepted, individuals` talk will be grouped into homogenous thematic sessions by the Scientifc Committee.

Symposia
Symposia usually consist of four to five papers (minimum is 3).
Contributors should stem from different research groups. Symposia which include contributions from at least two different countries will be preferred.
The convenor or chair of a symposium is supposed to organise a group of researchers.
The chair submits an integrative abstract, delineating the topic, summarising conceptual issues, and integrating the fndings of the participating papers.
After the symposium has been assigned an ID-number by the electronic system, the chair of the symposium as well as the authors of the contributing papers are able to submit the individual abstracts.
Around forty symposia will be held at the conference.

Individual posters
Posters will be favourite format for freestanding research presentations. Posters are recommended when the contribution is strongly data-based and therefore particularly suited for graphic or visual presentations.
Individual posters will also be grouped into thematically more or less homogenous poster sessions by the Scientifc Committee.
Usually about 400 posters were presented at previous ESDPs.
Multiple submissions
Please be aware of the fact that one person can only submit one abstract with him or her being the frst author. This rule generally applies irrespective of the type of abstract.
For example, you may submit a symposium and have a talk within this symposium. Alternatively you could submit a symposium without contributing a talk to it, but having a poster in one of the poster sessions or you could be the frst author of an individual presentation and a poster etc.
However, roles as discussants or members of a round table are not subsumed under this rule.
